Cylindrical box and lid ; cast (main body) and sheet brass (lid) with inlaid silver and black bituminous paste , inscribed with the name of the patron Badr al-Din Lu'lu the ruler of Mosul (631-659 AH/AD 1233-1259). The hinge and catch are later additions.
